Huffaz competition – Role of the Contestant
- After the Judge presents an ayah or question, contestants are encouraged to repeat it to confirm understanding. However, failure to do so will not result in elimination.
- Contestants should face the Judges while reciting or answering.
- Unless otherwise specified, teams must choose one designated member to answer. Note: All contestants must recite in Round 1.
- Responses must be delivered clearly and audibly.
- Contestants may request the Judge to repeat or clarify a question. The Judge may choose whether or not to provide clarification.
- A contestant may stop and restart their recitation/answer; however, self-corrections may affect scoring.
- Contestants are responsible for understanding the question correctly unless incorrect information was provided by the Judge.
- If an ayah (or its beginning) appears in multiple places, contestants must seek clarification before answering. Incorrect responses due to lack of clarification will result in mark deductions.
- Contestants are not permitted to have any study materials during the competition, including Qur’ans, translations, tafsir books, or electronic devices.
- All contestants should review the detailed document shared with all schools.
